If you’re here for the city
You’ll be close to the city center (approx. 10 min on public transport or taxi, less than 30 min walk), where Barcelona’s vibrant day & nightlife, with its contagious exuberance, is constantly spilling out onto small streets and cute Plaças packed with cafes, bars and local designer shops. Walk up to see Sagrada Familia, and his 2 other famous creations, Casa Milla & Casa Batllo.
Quick and easy access into night-life packed Born and Barri Gotic, but without the hassle of actually staying there. Ciutadella Park, Centre Commercial de Born and the Arc de Triomf are some of the closest landmarks you can observe for free.
Pro Tip: take a stroll through Eixample and observe the beautifully preserved Modernista balconies. Escape rooms abound on the streets near this flat; can you find them?
If you’re here for the beach
Barceloneta is the closest beach, and you can practically get there on foot. Great place to sunbathe, exercise, drink or just enjoy romantic sunsets. There are a lot of terraces along the Passeig the Juan de Borbo avenue, but for a real authentic experience, stray off the beaten path. Try one of the tuk-tuks if your legs get tired, and enjoy the views of the long Barcelona coast-line, running for several km, from the W Hotel, through The Olympic Port and onto Parc del Forum.
If you’re here for the nature
Parc Guell, Parc de Ciutadella and many other locations such as Montjuic or Tibidabo are easily accessible by metro, bus or taxi. Here you can find not one but two wondrous botanical gardens, one of them a cactus reservation that’s one of the most picture perfect natural wonders of Barcelona, The Fundacio Miro, The Poble Espanyol, The Theatre Grec, Palau Sant Jordi or explore some of the former Olympic Village attractions.
If you’re here for shopping
Shop ‘til you drop! Or maybe not that much, but still, find local designers and cute boutique stores in Born and Barri Gotic. Also, in Plaça Catalunya you will find a huge Corte Ingles, and the Portal de L’Angel Avenue, one of Spain’s lively shopping streets. Walking up Passeig de Gracia will take you to more and more luxurious stores. Rambla de Catalunya is also great for shopping.
